About Me

Hello, my name is Renee and I am the owner of Loc's by Serenity. Like many other hairstylists, I've always had a passion for hair, in this case, dreadlocs. I grew up in a home where hair was a daily topic, from when my mom did our hair, to when my sisters and I gave mom a break. But the conversation was always there.

From an early age, I began to develop creative ways to maintain hair, from perms, to braids, to drying, ironing and now dreadlocs. I practiced on my family. My trick was to focus on each of the hair textures and learn what works for each person, and because of that, I have been successful with Loc's by Serenity. (Fast forward, I graduated as a Medical Assistant and worked for a Dermatologist for over 5 years, and my interest in skin and scalp care was sparked. I took advantage of the position and learned as much as I could, always thinking about how I would apply this knowledge in my future hair care business. Long story short, Loc's by Serenity was born in October 2020. Has it been a challenge? Yes. Has it given me courage to move on? Yes, and that's why we're here today being rewarded with talent, passion, motivation and incredible clients who have consistently booked, shown up and continue to live a healthy lifestyle with their dreadlocs.

business policy 

Booking & Appointments

 

Secure Your Spot: A non-refundable deposit is required to book and confirm your appointment. This deposit will be applied directly to the total cost of your service.

How to Book: All appointments must be scheduled through our website's online booking system. I am unable to book appointments via text, email, or phone call.

 

Pricing & Payments

 

Flexible Pricing: All service prices listed are starting prices, not fixed rates. The final cost may vary based on the current condition, length, and density of your locs, as well as the complexity of the specific service.

Late Appointment Fee: Appointments scheduled for after 5:30 PM will include an additional $25 charge.

 

Tipping: Tips are always appreciated for great service!

 

Cancellations & No-Shows

 

24-Hour Notice: If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.

No-Show Policy: If you fail to show up for your appointment or don't notify me within the 24-hour window, you will be charged the full remaining balance of your scheduled service.

Future Bookings: Clients who no-show an appointment or do not communicate will unfortunately not be able to book with me in the future.

Grace Period: I offer a 10-minute grace period for arrivals. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, I may need to adjust your service or reschedule your appointment.

 

No Extra Guests: my salon suite space is cozy! To ensure a comfortable experience for everyone, please do not bring additional guests with you unless they also have an appointment for a service.

 

Phone Courtesy: I kindly ask that you refrain from making phone calls or video calls aloud during your service. If you need to take an urgent call, please use headphones.
